Sustainability
All of our manufactured product is made of recycled fibers. Paperboard, our base product, is made from recycled waste. The content of post-consumer waste varies from 60-70%, and is composed of newsprint, corrugated, and paperboard. The balance of the mix is pre-consumer waste such as envelope and other paperboard trim. We choose our covering materials for quality, recycled content, and consistency. Some of our selections are manufactured from the only hydro-electric paper mill in the U.S. Most of the paper mills we buy from are FSC certified and are all here in the U.S.
Here at H-B we practice recycle and reuse. All our trim is sold back to a waste broker and is recycled into new paperboard. We save all incoming packing materials, especially bubble wrap for outgoing shipments. Extending the life of many of these items is the most efficient practice in reducing the waste stream.
